PSP Reboot #7: Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip

So, here we have a sequel of a spin-off.  Hot Shots Tennis:  Get a Grip is a sequel to Hot Shots Tennis for the PS2 which is a spin-off of the Hot Shots Golf games.  As far as something that's a spin-off and a sequel (double trouble) this game could have been a whole lot worse.  Actually, this game is pretty fun.  The story mode is pretty stupid and the only worthwhile stuff to unlock are new characters and a few racquets.  Otherwise, you just unlock clothes and clothing accessories.  There's some bizarre shit too like bunny suits and what not.  Those Japanese game developers can be a bit odd sometimes!

Overall though, I really like this game.  The core of the gameplay is pretty fun and easy to pick up.  If you hit the ball in the right places, you can cause some cute, slapsticky, things to happen, out of bounds, which vary depending on what court you're playing on.  As far as tennis games go, this is way better than Mario Tennis (Mario, do me a favor and stick to pipes and go-karts), and not as unforgivingly hard as Hard Hitter tennis.

If you happen upon this game for five bucks, it gives you quite a bit of fun for your money.
